Bellechester City Council – Regular Meeting Minutes
April 16, 2019
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Majerus at 6:30 p.m.
Pledge to the flag.
Roll call was taken: The council in attendance: Mayor Greg Majerus, Council people Doug Majerus, Rich Majerus, Mark Gerken and Brian Ringeisen as well as Sara Betcher, Kyle McKeown, Goodhue County Sheriff Marty Kelly, and Brain Gordon.
Sheriff Kelly gave us a brief overview of the Goodhue County Sheriff’s office including the county’s first snow event, changes in the jail, changes in staffing, and wanting to get out into the community more.
Minutes of March 2019 meeting were approved with motion was made by Rich Majerus with a second by Doug Majerus to approve the minutes. Motion carried.
Bills were reviewed and a motion by Mark Gerken with a second by Brian Ringeisen to approve and pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Gordy wanted to let the city know that the Bellechester Tavern will be holding an all-day event May 18th It will be a Cruise in rain or shine with food and entertainment. He would also like to see some sort of town event in Bellechester to bring in some new revenue for the town.
Building application from Rich Majerus was presented with a motion made by Brian Ringeisen and a second by Mark Gerken to approve the application. Motion carried Rich Majerus abstained. Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Gerken to place $100,000 in a CD with Edward Jones or other similar company for 5 years by Mark, second by Brian Ringeisen. Motion carried.
Matt Mohs from WSB will start putting a grant together for new LP generator for Wellhouse #3.
Flood Insurance – Bellechester is not part of the Federal Flood Insurance program. We would like to possibly become a member to get this insurance.
Crack sealing will occur when the county is in the area doing other roads. It will cost approximately $800-900.
Motion made to approve a Dance permit for May 11, 2019 for the AIR club by Brian Ringeisen and second by Doug Majerus. Motion carried.
- Working on quarterly reports.
- Will start the process to look for a new clerk. Ads will be posted in the Zumbrota News-Record, Messenger, and Lake City Graphic/Shopper pending their print deadlines.
- New billing system started for Utility bills.
- Discussion on SWG monthly rates. No action taken. Citizen comments welcome.
- Started discharging today (4/16/19)
- Flushing May 25 or 26 pending weather.
Motion was made by Brian Ringeisen with a second by Rich Majerus to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 8:13 pm. Next meeting May 13, 2019.

Recycling – Please recycle whenever you can. There is a recycling bin located on the north end of town by GB Feed and Supply. By recycling, this will keep our garbage rates from rising.
