Bellechester City Council
July 8, 2015
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Keegan Quinn at 6:30 p.m.
Pledge to the flag.
Roll call was taken: The council in attendance: Mayor Keegan Quinn, Council people, Paul Reding, Kim Gilsdorf, and Rich Majerus also Clerk Lisa Redepenning & Treasurer Kyle McKeown as well as Dan Howard were also present. Absent Council member Jason Nurnberg
Minutes of June, 2015 meeting were approved as written – a motion by Kim Gilsdorf with a second by Rich Majerus to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried.
Bills were reviewed and a motion by Rich Majerus with a second by Kim Gilsdorf to approve and pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Public Forum – None
Bellechester Signage – Tabled until water expense is determined.
Abandoned Homes – Keegan will contact Dave Pete and we will wait until 2017 for the other property. Tabled until next month.
Comprehensive Planning – Discuss and Approve – Motion was made by Rich Majerus to enter into agreement with Mankato State for the purpose of developing a comprehensive plan with a 2nd by Paul Reding. Motion carried.
Well #4 Rehabilitation – Dan inquired with EH Renner with a recommendation by MN state to obtain a 2nd quote. They suggested to camera the well to see what has happened.
Super Chip Quote – The contactor that did the county work no longer does it. Rich has contacted several people regarding doing this. They will come to look at the road and give us recommendation/quote.
Fence Repair Quote – Dan will get information on this during the fall.
Clerk Report – Bills were sent for the water Witmer received as well as to the Legion for $818 for their portion of the insurance payment we received; League of MN Cities Insurance claim for $5397 indicates worker’s comp on the description, but it is Our General Municipality Insurance for June 2015 to June 2016; Will be paying 2nd Quarter Sales Tax, MN Unemployment Tax & MN & Federal Withholding this week; check to Legion was a pull tab donation from Lions that was run through us.
Treasurer Report – 1 shut off notice will be sent.
Water/Wastewater/Facility Report – $500 to clean up brush pile. Motion was made by Kim Gilsdorf to hire Witmer to clean up brush pile with a 2nd by Rich Majerus. Motion carried.
Council Concerns: None
Mayor Concerns: Will forward drawing of replacement structure at ball field for replacement.
Meeting was closed by Mayor Keegan Quinn at 6:59 to discuss personnel issue.
Meeting was reopened at 7:02 by Mayor Keegan Quinn.
Motion was made by Kim Gilsdorf with a second by Paul Reding to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 7:02 pm.
